Honey Bbq Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ketchup
  • Honey
  • Garlic
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • Oil for sautéing
  • Flour or breadcrumbs for coating
  • Buttermilk for marinating, optional
  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder for seasoning

Instructions

  • Start by heating oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until it becomes slightly browned and fragrant, taking care not to burn it.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and the sautéed garlic. Stir well and let the mixture simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • For the chicken, you can marinate it in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to enhance tenderness. If you prefer not to marinate, season the chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. While it's heating up, dip each chicken piece into a mixture of flour or breadcrumbs to create a crispy coating.
  • Place the coated chicken on the grill and cook for 7-10 minutes per side. Remember to baste the chicken with the BBQ sauce mixture every 3-4 minutes for added flavor and moisture.
  • Once the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char, remove it from the grill and allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.
